Experts from consumer protection organisations and advice groups that support vulnerable people are being sought to join the Board of TrustMark, the Government-endorsed scheme for all trades in and around the home.
TrustMark has one remaining vacancy on its Board, following the early departure of Sarah Harrison who has moved out of the sector. Two other consumer protection experts, Paul Ramsden and Carol Brady, are currently on the Board, but an additional ‘non-trade’ director is required to provide further insight and experience in consumer empowerment and consumer protection policy.
TrustMark always ensures there is an equal balance between trade and non-trade interests on the Board. Directors are elected for a three-year term.
Liz Male, Chairman of TrustMark, says, “TrustMark has a highly motivated and engaged Board which sets policy and directs our management team towards achieving the scheme’s objectives, and helps to maintain the integrity of everything we do. There’s never been a better time to be involved – the consumer protection for homeowners is improving rapidly. We are progressing strong collaborations and the development of new services to serve the industry and consumers.”
