The City & Guilds 2394-01 Initial Verification & Certification of Electrical Installations & City & Guilds 2395-01 Periodic Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations qualifications are assessed in 3 parts. The written theory examinations can now be completed online:  

• A multiple-choice, computer-based, ‘closed book’ examination (candidates are not allowed to take any guidance material into the examination to refer to) which takes place during the course with instant results
• Practical assessments for both City & Guilds 2394 & 2395 lasting approximately 4 hours each to be arranged for a mutually convenient date as soon as possible after the course has finished
• Written theory examinations for both City & Guilds 2394 & 2395 lasting 2 hours each on dates/times set nationally for all colleges & training centres by City & Guilds (usually every 2 months on Tuesday & Wednesday evenings from 18:30 to 20:30).

The City & Guilds 2394 & 2395 Written Theory Examinations are both two hours long and are held on set dates by City & Guilds. Both Written Theory examinations can now be completed online as computer-based exams. Rather than writing their answers, students can now type their answers. The dates for these online exams are not set by City & Guilds; instead, they are mutually agreed by the student and Technique Learning Solutions. The length of these examinations is unchanged at 2 hours.
